1972 Dodge 4x4 Emailed By Daniel Gross

I recently have hooked up to your web page and love it.  I have a special mopar that is very much a part of our family.  This is a 1972  4 X 4 1/2 ton pickup that was given to my husband on his twenty first birthday by his Mom and Dad.  When we received the truck it was mint green with flames on the hood.  Over the years the cab floor has rotted out.  In the meantime, I had aquired a mopar truck that the running gear wore out.  My husband so desperate to keep the green truck decided to make two trucks one.  In the picture you see his result.  We call this truck THUMPER because the right back tire bounces.  Always has no matter what we do to it mechanically.  My husbands mother died about six years ago and we have now decided this is the truck that we will keep forever because it is a part of her.  It has a 318  4 speed and a 4" scratch down the side where his mother tried to back it into the garage and got a little close.  That scratch will never be fixed now.   We have pulled a semi with a full trailer one year just to see if it would do it.  It pulled it a few feet, enough to get the semi started.  I hope that you will consider this truck as part of your mopar of the month.  We are mopar fans all the way.  We own a total of 3 from Thumper to a 1978 Little Red Express to a 1989 Dodge Dakota,  to a 1994 Dodge Pickup 1/2 ton 2WD show truck and daily driver.
