My Rusty Dodge is a 1966 Coronet
Deluxe 2dr. sedan. It started life as a granny grocery getter. It was an
original 6 cyl radio delete 27,000 mile car that belonged to a real
granny. I punched it in 1987, Fixed a dented r/f fender and drove the
hell out of it. The first thing to ware out was the 7 1/4 rear end. So
in went a 8 3/4. Soon after was the K frame swap with a 383 that
made a nice street package. The car was running 13.70s @ 95. It now
sports a 440, 292 cam,10.1 pistons 906 heads 727 still shifted on the
column, and a 4.10 Dana, It has run 11.49 @ 114.68. It usually does very
consistent 11.70s. Plans for the
future are 4.56s with a spool, A fresh engine with light weight pistons
and the 557 lift cam. Hopefully 11.20s will be the plan of the day next
time to the track.
Peace, Mike
