1995 Dodge Dakota Emailed By Mark Kuzia

1995 Dodge Dakota

Currently My 1995 Dakota has a 1993 360 Magnum engine with a Hughes Engines 220/225 @ .050 cam with .494 lift. The heads were ported by Koffels Place and feature stainless valves and Crane 1.5 ratio roller rockers. Also on the engine is an M-1 intake topped with a ported dual 52mm throttle body and 24# injectors. all of this flows through a set of Mopar Performance 1 5/8" Headers and a custom 3" exhaust w/No Cat and a Flowtech muffler.

The best 1/4 mile E.T.'s I was able to get this fall was a 13.79 @ 102.45 mph. Currently I have severe traction problems up to and past the 1/8 mile mark. I often had to abort a run because things get a little too hairy and I start to get sideways. My 1/8 mile times are currently 8.9 @ 80.3 mph. I do run 275/60's in the back, but they are not enough. Unfortunately, every time I bolted on Drag Radials, I broke something, axles, trans, etc... The truck was painted last year with Dupont Black basecoat and three coats of clear. At the time of the bodywork, I had the stake pockets filled in and added an R/T challenger style hood. On the interior, I have a set of real Viper gray leather buckets.

Last year I did the engine and paint, along with a few body mods. This year will be dedicated to completely redoing the rear suspension. I already have an 8 3/4 rear done by Reider Racing, I will be either adding dropped leaf mounts or possibly even a 4-bar setup with coilovers. I also plan to tub the rear with BIG 13" wide tires. I should be able to get low 13's with 104 mph numbers.

In the future, I plan to add a Holley 950 Digital Fuel Injection system, a 1200cfm T-body, stroke the engine out to 406ci, and add some free-breathing
aluminum heads.
