This is my 1966
Plymouth Valiant v-100. I found this car for about 12 years ago. The
condition was very bad, so I decided to build a street/strip car out of
it. The first rule for me was to build a very low-cost budget race car.
The engine is a 440 +0.30 with forged TRW pistons. Crankshaft and rods are
stock forged sixpack parts, fully balanced.
A hydraulic camshaft from crane lifts my isky rocker
arms 0.51 inch @ 312/322 degrees duration. The heads
are stock 452 with some porting. The trans is also stock TF727 with manual
valve body. The rear-axle is a shorten 8-3/4 equipped with cone diff brake
and stock 3.23 gear. The axle is mounted in my home made 4-link/coil over
suspension. I have done absolutely
everything on this car by my self except for boring
the block. With 150 hp help from some nitrous it runs
the 1/4 at 10.6 sec @ 126 miles. I think maybe I could
write a hole book of this car. The hole thing has cost
me about $ 6000. Some very strange parts have been
used, and everything is used parts except the pistons.
