1971 Dodge Demon By Grant Eaton

1971 Dodge Demon

I have owned this "Mr. Norms" Grand Spaulding Dodge Demon 340, 4 spd with many rare options for 25 years now. It needs some TLC and has been raced almost all of it's life. I ruined the original 340 racing it 16 yrs ago. It currently is running a 8-71 Dyers Blown 496 cu.in. Big Block with Nitrous. the Car was backhalfed after rust had eatin' most of the rear. The car still has the console, ralley dash, and rear louvers. I still have the original hood. All the Original dealer stickers are there, And I have the dealer invoice and original paperwork. But the rarest option is the Dealer installed rear window louvers. apparently most people did not like them and so like the "hood Tachometers" , most never saw the stuff. I regret not restoring it back instead of racing it more. It has run a best of 8.70@ 168 mph I plan to repaint it back to the blue with Black stripes it was born with soon. Stay tuned

Here are a few more pics showing the louvers better. I know little about them.  I know that they were tried for awhile, and must be the public didn't like them. I think that they are the rarest thing about the car.!  I also have been offered 2000.00 just for the louvers. But decided not to sell, and have only seen two others. One on  a  71 Duster 340, the other on a 73 Duster 340 that had the rear window  defrost in the glass.(not the blower motor under the package tray... But wire inbedded in the glass like a newer vehicle has) Mine still have the "Mr. Norms" sticker in the center of the bottom louver.  Also, My Demon 340 has an early production date. it also has the chrome package that included the hood, hood pins, chrome mirrors, and chrome strips that are on top of the doors and side windows close to the glass.(pcs are about 1/2 inch wide).
