1976 Dodge Royal Monaco. I
am the original owner of the car, having specially ordered it from the
dealer. Not many 2 door hardtops were sold, especially to 23 year old
young men. My previous car was a 68 Plymouth Fury III, so I was already
a diehard Mopar man.
My Monaco was a very pampered car through the years, only clocking 62K
miles since new. I never really considered keeping it for 36 years, but
it just happened that way. The car is almost totally original and still
looks and drives nice. The car has always exhibited the usual Mopar
quirks, including stalling until warmed up. My Fury was the same way.
However, it has been a conversation piece in recent years, not many
original owners of this vintage of car are still alive.
