1970 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible By Bill Wonder

1970 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible By Bill Wonder

My name is Bill Wonder and I'm the Secretary/Newsletter Editor for the Mid-America E-Body Mopar Club. Check us out at : http://www.angelfire.com/super/ebodymoparclub/. Here are some shots of my 1970 Barracuda Convertible. This car has been completely restored and was originally a 318/904 Barracuda. The car was restored using a 1970 'Cuda Hardtop as a donor. This car gave up its front clip, all 'Cuda trim, plus its 340 and 727 Torqueflite, along with disc brakes and the 3.55 Sure-Grip
rear end.

The engine has been 'beefed-up' with a Mopar Performance cam and M-1 intake, but runs the factory H.P. manifolds and factory-style exhaust through the tips. This car is unique in that it was originally Rallye Red with the Red Vinyl interior and a white power top. It was restored with a black interior and top. Also making it unique is the fact that it was a Y09 Export car, sold new to a Captain in the Air Force who had the car shipped to Germany during his service.

When it returned to the states it ended up in Missouri where it was sold to its second owner, a housing manager at an air base there. Two months after it was purchased for his wife, a couple of youth stole the car, but it was recovered out of gas, but undamaged along the highway later. It has power steering, power brakes, a power top, SlapStik automatic, standard gauges with Gran Coupe woodgrain trim, a rim blow wheel, 'fish gill' rocker moldings, wheel lip moldings, Hockey Sticks, and 15 x 7" Rallye Wheels.

The car is a blast to drive and a fun summer cruiser.

Thanks
Bill Wonder
