This is my little monster. A factory 383 a/c
California car I bought last year. With numerous oil, coolant, power
steering & trans leaks that made life miserable, I just went a little
crazy. It now has a 500 cid Mopar crate engine, ATI 727 streetfighter
trans with 3000 stall converter, and 3:91 posi 8 3/4 rear. The factory
flat hood would not work with the engine that is quite a bit taller than
the 383, so I put a replica T/A hood on it with the stock hinges. I
needed to modify some brackets for the a/c compressor, but managed to
get it right. Also the trans kickdown linkage won't work, so I put a
cable kit on it. Only problem with this car is that it's downright scary
to drive. Traction is impossible!! Any attempt to mash the throttle up
to 50 mph results in tire smoke and a white knuckle ride. All that power
and a/c too! Paint job is next.
